Guarding the Tropical Rainforest
The Grand Project Aurora Gold Mine in Guyana is located in the Amazon tropical rainforest. The project team regularly evaluates the biodiversity hotspots and species in the area, including whether operations may affect biodiversity and forest regeneration. Ecological conservation work is integrated throughout the entire process of project planning, development, management, and exit, focusing on issues such as water conservation, forest land protection, and biodiversity conservation, in order to better protect the tropical rainforest ecology and create a new model of harmonious integration between mining and nature.
